The region witnessed a snowstorm, considered the most severe in years, which led to the closure of roads to the camps due to heavy snow, demolishing the tents of the displaced, and harming thousands of families living in the camps.
In response to the humanitarian situation, International Humanitarian Relief, along with a group of organizations working on the Syrian issue, is launching the “Be Warm for Them” campaign to secure winter and urgent basic necessities for our people in the camps, especially for the most vulnerable groups. Where:
Winter clothes for more than 10,000 beneficiaries
Heating materials for more than 1,700 beneficiaries
Food supplies for more than 1,200 beneficiaries
Preparing complete tents and furnishings for 2,558 beneficiaries

The Winter 20/21 campaign is a response to the refugee families of those affected in the northern Syrian camps and the border Lebanese areas camps due to the harsh winter and its storms that befell the country.
International Humanitarian Relief helped the most vulnerable families in the camps in Afrin and Azaz in the Aleppo countryside and Arsal in Lebanon.

By distributing heating materials, winter clothes, and tent mattresses to more than 2,500 families.

During this time every year, refugees and vulnerable families, especially those living in tents, suffer from cold weather conditions and harsh winter storms. Unfortunately, year after year, due to the faltering economy, the situation gets worse. The snow storms this year caused severe damage to homes if not completely destroyed them.
The International Humanitarian Relief (IHR) launched its annual “Winter Warmth” campaign to support these families in facing the harsh winter days.

The intervention aims at distributing fuels for 1280 HHs in NRH – Talbiseh (60 Liters of Fuel/HH). Furthermore, 5000 Liters of fuel will be distributed to the hospice in Al-Sa’an Al-Aswad area

This intervention aims at distributing 1450 winter kits to 1450 HHs in the eastern Ghouta area. Each kit consists of a stove (diesel, charcoal), winter socks, winter underwear, winter hats, winter scarf.
This intervention is an attempt to mitigate the suffering of the families residing in the area and enhancing their physical health in such hard circumstances where the fuel is very scarce yet very expensive.

This project is an attempt to provide a better living conditions to the displaced and host community families, through providing them with NFI basic items assistance in order to sustain their survivability with the minimum day to day living standards.

The Winterization and Hygiene kits Project includes the Distribution of Winterization Kits “Fuel in Hola and Firewood in Eastern Ghouta” two times during winter season as well as the Hygiene kits three times throughout the Project Period for the Vulnerable Households.

After years of heavy bombing and cruel siege imposed on many places inside Syria, people’s health status became intolerable and living in these circumstances has become incredibly dangerous on families and children especially during winter. Therefore, in the hope of facilitating the difficulties facing Syrian people during the harsh winter, our team started distributing Hygiene baskets, winter packages, and fuel among more than 40,000 residents at the besieged areas especially in Al-Ratsna, Al-Ghouta, Talbiseh, and Al-Qalamoun.
