1- Installation of the solar-powered irrigation station <\/span>
\nSolar-powered irrigation station will be installed on the reservoir of Al Asi is located Tlul community in the Salqin sub-district. The station consists of solar panels made of monocrystalline perc, a station body, polyethylene pipes, concert sub-canals, and two pumps with a capacity of 220 m3\/hour (110 m3\/hour per one).<\/span>
\n2-Raising awareness sessions – trainings for all targeted farmers to cover the following topics: <\/span>
\n\u25cfCrop varieties and water needs of certain crops.<\/span>
\n\u25cfModern irrigation techniques, and the optimal use of water resources.<\/span>

This project aims to provide integrated FS and nutrition services through:
\n– Empowering women by training them on food processing and distributing small grants
\n– Distributing cash vouchers for HHs with malnutrition cases and high vulnerability scores.
\n– Activation 10 RRTs to provide integrated nutrition, health, child protection, and hygiene promotion services.
\nThe services shall be delivered at 15 communities at the following subdistricts: Dana, Qourqeena, Atareb, Jandairis, Afrin, Sharan.
\nA- FS activities:
\n1- training 300 female-headed households:
\n– Theoretical part include (food processing, HACCP, business management, marketing) one month
\n– Practical part includes topics on food production (12 weeks)
\n2- Distributing 300 food processing tools-vouchers with a value of 120 $ per woman.
\nThose assets can be used sustainably in future small projects by women.
\n3- Distributing 300 raw materials-vouchers with a value of 200 $ per woman divided into 4 rounds\/months.
\nthese vouchers will be used to produce food that came from vegetables, fruits, or milk.
\nThat small grant aims to encourage women to start their small business projects.
\n4- Establishing women groups and building their capacity to empower them.
\n5- Distributing cash vouchers with a value 60$ (4 rounds to 536 households)
\nwe will target families having children with SAM and a high vulnerability score<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Conducting 10 field visits to 1500 breeders during 10 months. The IHR veterinarians will check on the animals\u2019 health situation and provide the required treatment, if needed, against the most common diseases, or consultations.<\/span>
\n\u2022 holding ten awareness sessions for no less than 50 % of the same1500 breeders to raise their awareness about the best veterinary practices. The sessions will be through small groups of breeders to ensure their safety.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Conducting six vaccination campaigns in the same area by targeting 50.000 sheep and goats at each campaign that are owned by beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries against Enterotoxemia (for twice), Sheep Pox, FMD, and Pasteurella diseases. As well as targeting 1000 cows against Lumpy Skin Disease.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Conducting artificial insemination for 100 cows by using seminal straws high-throughput strains. organizing the pregnancy of 1000 sheep by using a vaginal sponge to increase birth rates for sheep. and follow up health situation of that cow and sheep by IHR veterinarians.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Training 50 veterinary technicians of persons who graduated, students still in the university or out of university, for ten actual days. Distributing 50 veterinary kit consist of main required tools to enable them of launching their special work. Selecting the best ten trainees to benefit from CFW activity by accompanying the field veterinary visits for getting on practical experience and livelihood opportunities. Each trainee will receive 7 USD per workday for ten calendar months.<\/span>
\n\u2022 Distributing 360 tons of fodder (pellet) to 2000 sheep and 100 cows for four batches (Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This project aims to improve food security by enhancing access to agriculture inputs of women and men’s farmers. 500 beneficiaries will get on vouchers to enable them of getting on the required agriculture inputs, as well as cash vouchers for irrigation, the cash voucher can enable the farmers to reach for optimal irrigation times, which is one of the response plans to mitigate the impact of drought on farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the knowledge about food processing will be improved for 100 women through attending three months of theoretical and practical training sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The project consists of two parts targeting totally 1,200 breadwinners,<\/p>\n

  • first one aims to support 800 local farmers who own land but in need for special agricultural inputs in the winter (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and irrigation support)<\/li>\n
  • The second part of the project is to support 400 IDP’s HHS’ breadwinners with food production (dairy production) tools via voucher<\/li>\n
  • Furthermore, IHR will hold training courses on new farming methods and the best ways of marketing after training farmers will be able to use the best farming methods, and they will be able to sell their crops in the best conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    This project aims to provide technical support to cattle breeders specifically milking cows’ and ewes’ breeders as an attempt to preserve the livestock size in all besieged areas of Rural Damascus particularly Eastern Ghouta. Considering that the livestock size is decrementing day by day affected by the imposed besiegement. Therefore, this project will focus on targeting 79 milking cows’ breeders and 34 milking ewes’ breeders and will provide them with a sufficient quantity of fodder that suffices their heifers for a period of time, considering that the availability of fodder is very rare. Additionally, through this project breeders are going to be invited to attend a series of awareness sessions to increase their awareness and preparedness in terms of the different ways of breeding to follow and how to increase and develop their personal livestock size. Not to forget that a series of market linking events are going to be provided to all selected breeders and interns. These events will help targeted beneficiaries identify all possible gaps milk production is facing and work on proposing all possible solutions. Moreover, this project is going to provide a job opportunity for 113 young breeders who will be recruited to support the direct beneficiaries for a monthly salary. Finally, through this project we are going to be supporting two peasants\u2019 federations by establishing one training room for each federation to be used to serve all farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Where the region is currently experiencing very difficult security conditions, including the closure of all crossings through which local traders can supply the region with various supplies of food and non-food, non-availability of all kinds of food and non-food goods and the very high prices of those available ones. Thus, the idea of \u200b\u200bthis project was to cook and distribute hot meals to families that have not yet received any kind of assistance from any party in the besieged Douma city as an attempt to address the negative consequences of this brutal siege.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    LIVELIHOOD AND LIVESTOCK PROJECT – PHASE 3, concentrated on maintaining and
    \nimproving the livestock situation in Eastern Ghouta by providing the livestock keepers who
    \nreceived cows to raise from the previous phase of the project (86 livestock keepers received
    \ncows in phase 2) with fodder to feed the cows. The folder was distributed twice throughout the
    \nproject\u2019s timeframe. Additionally, another major component of the project was a mobile
    \nveterinary clinic which conducted rounds in several areas in Eastern ghost in order to provide
    \nveterinary services for all kinds of livestock to around 1,827 beneficiaries. Furthermore, the
    \nproject included private and public awareness session for livestock keepers which addressed
    \ndifferent topics related to livestock rearing and associated skills.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Al-Rihan Centre for Women Dairy Farmers also serves as a hall\u00a0for various training seminars on milk production techniques, sheep rearing and money management skills.\u00a0By introducing them to an occupation they can utilize (i.e. sheep farming), this Project offers many\u00a0benefits to women: reducing their economic dependency, and strengthening their own (and\u00a0their children\u2019s) food security.     Eastern Ghouta lacks all essential living dietary materials as it has been under siege for a long time. As part of its long-term local projects strategy, our team started working on a \u2018Harvest (corn and eggplants) for Farmers\u2019 project. This consisted of providing seeds and seedlings for farmers and offering technical support in order to till the soil and make the land arable.     Providing flour to Sahl Al-Ghab and Hama eastern rural bakeries:<\/p>\n

    Each bakery cooks 1 ton\/day of flour which means around 1000 bread loaves – an average of 50 tons per month for the two bakeries. Our team distributed 2000 bread loaves daily to people at a price of 35 Syrian Pounds\/per loaves.<\/p>\n

    These steps allowed families to buy rabbits, raise them, then eat them. This project was one of the most significant projects carried out by IHR as the rabbits, unlike other animals, have short pregnancy durations and large births number.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
